Benefiting Boa
Even though we are a small family company, corporate responsibility and contributing towards supporting the islanders, animals and environment on Boa Vista is a priority for us both as individuals and as an organisation.
We are a registered Cape Verdean company, paying our taxes within Cape Verde, employ local staff, using and working with locally owned establishments and companies all contributing to support the economy.
We contribute in a number of ways…
Un Click Jardim
We support a lovely local charity kindergarten, Un Click Jardim, individual children and families in the slum area and one of the villages Povoacao Velha. We provide Christmas parties for up to 250 children every year ensuring each child gets a present and a fun day out. We provide school bags for the children leaving the charity to go to primary school.
Nerina – Dog and Cat sanctuary
We are huge animal lovers so we are delighted to support Nerina, a wonderful dog and cat sanctuary. A haven for street animals, Nerina takes strays off the street and keeps them safe while trying to re home them here and abroad. They give full veterinary care and lots of love and attention.
Turtle conservation
Boa Vista has the third largest loggerhead turtle nesting population in the world behind Oman and southeast USA. We support the conservation of the turtles through our turtle tours, giving money per person to the conservation group and educating and informing our clients of the importance of Boa Vista as a turtle nesting destination.
How can you help?
Bring items to donate for the children in the kindergarten, villages and slums such as school bags, wrapped Christmas presents, clothes, school supplies, Calpol and basic first aid items.
Bring sanitary items for women, items for babies, football boots and gear for the kids club.
Donate to the kindergarten via their website or donate in person on one of our tours.
Donate to the animal sanctuary in person when out on tour or get in touch for more info how to help financially with the project.
Bring items for the animals such as tick and flea collars, worming tablets, nail clippers, metal bowls, old towels and bedding or any item from vets or animal care item Or adopt a dog or cat and give it a forever home!
